Terms of Service

The rules of the road: simple, fair and written in plain language.

Last updated: October 23, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of AndrIoT (the website at andriot.net, the dashboard at app.andriot.net, the Android apps and the cloud service; together the “Service”), operated by Jagar Yousef (“AndrIoT”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, installing the app or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher, and able to enter a binding contract.

2. The Service

AndrIoT lets you turn a compatible Android phone (Android 5+ with the full app; Android 4.1+ with the Legacy app) into a camera and sensor hub that you can view and control from a web browser. Features include live video and audio, motion detection, two-way audio, sensor readings, remote screen display, remote tools, schedulers, and a Forwarding Hub that sends alerts to Telegram, webhooks or MQTT. Which features and limits apply depends on your plan. We may improve, change or retire features over time. We will try to give notice of material reductions.

AndrIoT is software only. You supply the phone, power, Wi-Fi and, optionally, a smart plug. A consumer phone running 24/7 is not certified security equipment; see section 8.

3. Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account, including by other seats you invite.
  • Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Plan limits (phones, seats, history, relay data and video quality) are described in the pricing section. Demo accounts are short-lived and may be removed automatically.

4. Acceptable use

AndrIoT is for protecting and looking after the things that are yours. You agree that you will only monitor places, property and people you have the legal right to monitor, and that you will:

  • comply with all laws that apply to video and audio recording, surveillance, data protection and privacy where the phone is located and where you are. These laws vary, particularly for audio recording and for workplaces and rented homes;
  • tell people they may be recorded where the law or basic decency requires it (for example with a visible sign), and never record in places where people expect privacy, such as bathrooms or changing rooms;
  • not use the Service for covert spying or stalking, to monitor another adult without their knowledge and consent, or to harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
  • not use the Service or any Google APIs to create, store or share sexual or intimate imagery of anyone without their consent, including AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery, or any content that exploits or endangers minors;
  • not use the Service for anything unlawful, to store or share illegal content, or to infringe others' rights;
  • not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer (except where the law allows), probe or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' data;
  • not resell or sublicense the Service, or use the relay to carry traffic unrelated to AndrIoT; and
  • use the remote shell, file manager, network and IR tools only on devices you own or are authorised to administer.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, and may cooperate with law enforcement where required by law.

5. Your content

You own your video, audio, images, logs and settings (“Your Content”). You give us a limited licence to host, transmit, process and store Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you, for example to relay a stream, store a clip you enabled and deliver an alert. We don't use Your Content for advertising or to train models. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights and consents to record and store it. See the Privacy Policy for how long we keep it.

6. Subscriptions, payment and refunds

  • Plans and prices. Demo is free. Standard costs $4.99 per month or $49.90 per year; Pro costs $9.99 per month or $99.90 per year (prices in USD, plus any applicable taxes). Yearly plans include two months free compared with paying monthly.
  • Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. Cards are accepted today and we plan to add more payment methods.
  • Renewal and cancellation. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; your plan then stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and will not renew.
  • Refunds. You can try the Service for free with the Demo before you pay. If you are not satisfied with a new paid subscription, write to [email protected] within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it. After that, payments are generally non-refundable for the current period, except where required by law (including statutory rights for consumers in the EU and UK) or in case of a prolonged outage on our side.
  • Changes in price. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price change for existing subscribers; it applies from your next renewal, and you may cancel before then.
  • Downgrades and limits. If you downgrade or your plan ends, the features and limits of the new plan apply, and data beyond the new retention period is deleted.

7. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep the Service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service depends on things outside our control, including your phone, power, mobile and Wi-Fi networks, browsers, third-party services such as Telegram and Firebase Cloud Messaging, and the Android operating system. We may carry out maintenance, which we will try to schedule with minimal disruption.

8. Not a certified alarm system

AndrIoT is a convenience and hobby-grade monitoring tool. It is not a certified, professionally monitored or life-safety alarm system, and must not be relied on as the only protection for people, pets or property, or for medical, fire or emergency use. Alerts can be delayed or missed, for example if the phone loses power or connectivity. Contact emergency services directly in an emergency.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AndrIoT and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or property (including losses arising from a missed alert, a stolen item, or a damaged phone or battery), and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and (b) USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. You are responsible for the phone you use, including its battery, charger and safe placement; running a device continuously on power carries inherent risks that we cannot control.

10. Your responsibility

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages and costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or recording of others in breach of the law, except to the extent caused by us.

11. Intellectual property and third parties

The Service, including the software, branding, design and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps and dashboard for their intended purpose. “Android” and “Google” are trademarks of Google LLC; other brand names are the property of their owners and are used for compatibility information only. AndrIoT is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Open-source components remain under their own licences.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your use puts the Service or others at risk. We will usually give notice and a chance to fix the problem, unless it is urgent. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we will delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 5, 9, 10 and 13) will survive.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except that mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence still apply to you. If a dispute arises, please contact us first at [email protected] and we will try to resolve it in good faith. If you are an EU consumer you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that date, you accept the updated Terms.
